BENGALURU: Just a day after actor Arjun Sarja filed a defamation suit of Rs 5 crore against actress Shruti Hariharan, the latter has now sought police protection and has lodged a complaint against Sarja’s alleged aide Prashanth Sambaragi. A complaint of threat to life and defaming modesty of woman has been lodged at High Grounds Police station against Sambaragi.

According to the complaint recieved by the police, Shruti states that she was threatened and verbally abused by Prashanth and some of his supporters on Thursday at 4 PM when she along with Kavitha Lankesh had gone to attend the meeting called by the Film Chamber. The complaint says that: “In the meeting, I told whatever had happened and how I was sexually harassed and intimidated by Arjun Sarja and I had no plans of withdrawing the complaint,” After the meeting, actress in her complaint states that Prashanth Sambaragi, who is no way connected to the Film fraternity started abusing her verbally and said ‘I will not spare you for what you are doing. Being a Hindu woman you have no respect for womanhood. I have all the details of your facebook accounts and I know what to do,” the complaint states.

Shruti says, these words are not only defaming but is also trying to induct hatred amongst common man and also tarnish her image by bringing religion into the picture. Also, she alleges that he is very close to Arjun Sarja, the actor under question and “Prashanth has all the powers to enrage public and Arjun Sarja’s fans against me.”

Shruti has sought protection from police and claims that Arjun Sarja being a senior actor has many fans and such provocations by Sambaragi can definitely enrage the fans who could inturn attack her.

Meanwhile High Grounds police has registered a case against Prashanth Sambaragi for threatening her  life and have said they will investigate into the allegations and decide whether police protection has to be given.
