KOCHI: Veteran Bollywood star Padmini Kolhapure, who was one of the leading actresses in the industry, is going to make her debut in Mollywood. The actress had never showed interest in South Indian language films during her peak years, in the eighties. However, now she will be seen in director VK Prakash’s upcoming Malayalam film titled 'Karmayogi'.

Padmini was offered a very important role in this new movie. Indrajit plays the male lead. Balram Mattanur has written the film’s script. The film is said to be based on the famous Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’.

The 44-year-old actress had taken a break from acting after tying the knot in the early eighties. Later, she made her comeback to acting in 2004 with Marathi film 'Manthan'. She retired from acting at the age of 21 years. She was also offered to play the role of Tulsi Virani in Star Plus’ popular show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.
