Fahadh and Mamta are not playing a couple in Carbon

Director Venu refutes rumours that the movie deals with environmental issues

Director Venu’s next starring Fahadh Faazil and Mamta Mohandas will go on the floors on August 17. However, according to the director, the movie titled Carbon will not have a romantic angle.

“Fahadh will not be seen romancing Mamta in Carbon. Though this is the first time they are pairing up, the movie won’t have them as a couple. In fact, Mamta’s character counters Fahadh’s,” says Venu.
The director also rubbished rumours that the movie deals with environmental issues. “The movie has nothing to do with green issues. The title Carbon hints at ashes and diamonds, which means the dreams and aspirations of a young man. The character played by Fahadh wants his life to be a treasure hunt,” says the director.

Carbon, which has been scripted by the director himself, will be shot in Idukki. “This is not a rural subject. The story just happens in a small  town. The latter portion of Carbon will be shot in an estate bungalow,” he added.

Carbon was already in the news after Bollywood director Vishal Bharadwaj was roped in for composing the tunes. The movie will also have cinematographer K U Mohanan cranking the camera.
Venu’s last movie Munnariyupp, a thriller,  starring Mammootty and Aparna Gopinath won critical acclaim.
