Dhawan duos to team up for remake of Telugu movie Kandireega

It had to happen. Varun Dhawan has teamed up with his father David Dhawan for Main Tera Hero, remake of Telugu film Kandireega. The film's cast and crew have been busy at work in Bangalore. "We started shooting only 20 days ago, so it's early for me to say how it is working with Dad. But he sure treats me like any other professional."

Familiarity with the project doesn't end there for Varun. Hansika Motwani was part of the original make. He says, "We both grew up in the same apartment complex.

In fact,  when I started the film she was one of the first persons to wish me luck. It was very sweet of her. I have promised to show her the film once it is done. I didn't realise how popular she has become until I came to Bangalore and I spotted many posters of my friend."

Varun who is just a year and one film old in the industry has already been linked to a couple of heroines. "Have I?" asks Varun, adding, "I honestly don't pay attention to all this. At the end of the day if you have to be a successful actor, you have to act well. For me talks of affairs and link-ups are all secondary."

Despite being a star-kid, Varun thinks it is too early to consider himself as a star. Though on being a pin-up boy, that's a different ball game. "I am here to entertain. If that's how the audience wants to sees me, then so it be. But I have a lot more to offer and that will be evident in my forthcoming films."

Acting is all Varun has ever thought of doing and he has his strategy set too. "I have decided to take one project at a time. I am in no hurry to make announcements or have line-up of films in my kitty. I am not playing that game. I want to do every film as my last film and not take anything for granted," he says.

Varun recently took a break from his shooting schedules for a public appearance in Bangalore to promote a fitness programme. "Most Indians don't pay attention to warm-up exercises and that causes injuries.

I have joined a social media campaign to create awareness on this by participating in a five-minute video that has been is choreographed by Remo Fernandes. The dance routine I demonstrate flexes 13 major muscle groups in the body," says Varun. Not all brawn here, for sure.
