AMR Ramesh’s Game is only getting bigger and better as more people are getting involved in this mega bilingual (Kannada and Tamil) project. The director has already roped in Arjun Sarja to play the role of an investigative officer while Shaam has recently been confirmed as the main antagonist, a role that was initially supposed to be played by the director himself. “Now that Shaam will be the villain, I want to continue the suspense around my role in the film,” says Ramesh.
This film seems to be getting even more interesting with Arjun Sarja recommending Manisha Koirala to the makers and them taking it up. There is a long association between Arjun and Manisha as they had worked together for the Tamil film Mudhalvan (1999) directed by S Shankar and it was declared a box office hit. The film was also made in Telugu as Oke Okkadu. “Arjun has already spoken to Manisha about the role and when I briefed her about the script and the role, she was impressed with it and especially the character that we have envisioned her playing. The role has many grey shades which she felt was quite unique and interesting. I am in Mumbai today for the final narration and for running through the formalities before she signs on the dotted line. Arjun Sarja and Manisha were a hit pair with their last film Mudhalvan. However this time, there will be a twist in their pairing,” says Ramesh.
With Game, Manisha will return to the South industry after a long gap and also make her Sandalwood debut.
The first look and photoshoot for Game was recently held in Chennai with Arjun and Shaam. Apparently Arjun’s daughter, Aishwarya, was so excited with the story of the film and her father’s role in it that she has involved herself with the project and taken on the responsibility of styling Arjun’s various looks,” reveals the director. He further added, “Arjun, himself was thrilled to get a clean cut look and a stylish makeover for this film and is currently in Mumbai selecting the various costumes.”
While Ramesh is yet to finalize another female lead for the film, the other players are warming up to their roles. “Almost everything has fallen into place and it is time we start the film now,” he says.
