On the seventh sense

DO human beings have a seventh sense? Well in his movie 'Brammadeva', lead actor and producer, Dr Ram, an ENT surgeon turned actor, wants us to believe that they do. Made by his own Royal Pentagon’s Productions, the film is almost complete and will be released in April. It is based on a thought Ram had. “Humans have a sixth sense. What if a seventh sense also exists?” This is the basic premise of this story, which has two heroes and explores the limits of love and friendship.

The film has all commercial elements including fights and songs with a fast screenplay. Roshan plays villain in Brammadeva while Tejasree is the heroine. Sanjay (of Taragu and Ayyavazhi fame) is the second hero. “In Brammadeva I have changed my body language and get up entirely. Each film of mine should be different,” says Sanjay. In the forthcoming Bhaktan he plays a soft painter while in another, he will be playing a complete action hero.

According to Ram, Brammadeva’s script is unusual and might rake in the moolah if recent trends are to be observed closely. “I have researched the topic long and hard along with the debut director Dharmalinga. Films dealing with medical ailments like short-term memory loss and multiple personality disorders have usually met with success. So we hit upon this unusual story that deals with maniac depressive psychosis, which gives rise to several moods suddenly one after the other. This we thought could be the seventh sense. People go into a deep depression and do odd things like jumping off a building, eating bulbs and the like.” Ram himself has jumped off the tenth floor with ropes and without a dupe for the role.

Ram has been observing the behaviour, gait and living patterns of patients for an authentic portrayal. The special feature he claims is going to be the Computer graphic images, which will show how stimuli reach the hippocampus of the brain and affect the patient. Lets see if all of this makes any sense to the audiences finally!
