Dhanush-STR bond in Dubai

Seen as rivals among upcoming actors in K-town, Dhanush and Silambarasan surprised all by striking this friendly pose during a recent visit to Dubai.
Dhanush-STR bond in Dubai

Nobody in Kollywood saw this coming. Seen as rivals in the professional sphere, actors Dhanush and Silambarasan— whose careers are often compared — seemed to have buried the hatchet over a weekend in Dubai, where an awards ceremony was conducted.

As proof of the newly forged friendship, the duo clicked a picture together, which STR later posted on his microblogging site, with a caption that said that he “had a great time in Dubai with Dhanush, Manoj Manchu and all industry friends”.

This is not the first time that the duo is clarifying that they are friends. But instances of hostility have far outnumbered their little gestures of camaraderie. Even a month ago, when the teaser of STR’s 'Vaalu' was released, it contained a dialogue that took a dig at Dhanush’s famous punchline in 'Padikadhavan'. STR later justified it saying the one-liner has given his film the publicity it needs.

Not long before, when 'Kolaveri' was a raging phenomenon, STR went abroad to work on what he called the 'Love Anthem', collaborating with international musicians. The anthem too, like 'Kolaveri', was released online. Later, when Dhanush worked on his anthem for cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar— which was said to be plagiarised, Simbhu remarked sarcastically about it on his microblogging site.

Though Dhanush has maintained a stoic silence over these issues, the actor clearly had the last laugh at the awards ceremony.

The star, who was awarded Best Actor for his performance in 'Aadukalam', not only sang the superhit number from his movie 3, but also made Simbhu sing along with him on stage.

It is said that the actors spent quality time with each other during the trip, and clicked this picture during travel.

It is reported that Dhanush later praised Simbhu, calling him a better dancer and singer than him, and even made him shake his leg for the hit number.
