'Thalaivaa is not political'

Even as rumours did the rounds that advance booking for Vijay’s mega-budget Eid release Thalaivaa had been stalled because of it’s ‘political’ storyline, the actor has chosen to speak up and allay fears. Despite being in Europe at the moment, Vijay said on Wednesday that, “Thalaivaa has nothing to do with politics nor does it attack any politicians. These are poisonous rumours that have been spread by some trouble-makers.” Starring Vijay alongside Amala Paul and Sathiyaraj, Thalaivaa is set in Mumbai and deals with the life of Tamilians living there. “It will have action, romance and comedy, making it the perfect entertainer for the entire family. There is nothing even remotely political about it and everyone will be able to enjoy the film,” said the actor. The film has been directed by A L Vijay, who has made films like Madrasapattinam and Thaandavam.
