CHENNAI: The entire cast of Ajith-Gautham Menon thriller Thala 55 is headed to Malaysia on Tuesday where they will shoot for a marathon three weeks and move towards conclusion.
A source close to the film’s unit said that there were at least another 60 days of shoot left before the film was to be wrapped up and sent to post-production.
The crew would have been in a slightly rocky place when news got out that Trisha, who plays one of the female leads alongside Anushka, is killed in the climax — a scene that was canned earlier this week during the shoot along locations on the East Coast Road. “It is unfortunate that people are making a big deal about this.
The team is focused on finishing the shoot and quickly move towards the graphics portion for Ajith’s characters. We are looking at a release in early November, as we don’t want a situation similar to Pongal where Veeram and Jilla released together,” he said.
