I Know My Weakness and Strength Now: Pia

Pia will be playing a village belle in Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, which is set to release on Friday. “I don’t play the lead actor. The lead actor, in fact, is a lorry,” says Pia. “The title of the film itself is derived from what’s written behind a lorry,” she adds. “However, I have a powerful role in the film. The character I play is named Maya, who is a teenager. Actress Viji Chandrasekhar plays my mother. The film explores the wonderful relationship between a mother and daughter. There’s also an element of drama and romance, both in an equal measure,” she says.

Pia reveals one of the challenges while on the sets of the movie. “While I was shooting, I had to wear a T-shirt that was supposed to be soiled. I didn’t give my T-Shirt for wash for 25 days as I wanted to get the real feel during shoot. When I used to put on the T-Shirt, it was as if a new soul entered into me.”

Pia, who played the bubbly Roshini in Venkat Prabhu’s comedy flick Goa, says that as an actor, she has transformed a lot. “When I was doing Poi Solla Porom, I was clueless. I had language issues. And I used to worry as to how I’m going to deliver my dialogues. But now, I know where I stand. I know my weaknesses and strength,” she says.
