Yet another film with a funny phrase for a title is getting made. Vellaiya Irukiravan Poi Solla Maattan is a film that looks to not only entertain masses but at the same time, hit out at certain prejudices prevalent in society.

Directed by A L Abanindran, the film features Praveen Kumar, Shalini Vadnikati, Karthik Kumar, Sanam Shetty, Bala, Aadukalam Nareyn, Jaya Prakash and Arul Dass in important roles. Talking to City Express, Praveen Kumar, who plays the hero in the film, says, “The film will be a full-fledged entertainer. The comedy in it will be real and not a side-track as in the case of certain other films. The film is a humorous take on the prejudices prevailing in society. It is about how we, as a society, judge people by the position they are in. The film has 40 characters in it and each one has a very distinct role to play.” A childhood friend of director Prasanna, who made Kalyana Samayal Sadham, Praveen says, “I did a small role in that film. I have acted in short films as well. I got this role after an audition.” The film, which was shot in and around Chennai in a matter of over 35 days, has music by Joshua Sridhar while the camera  has been cranked by Sarangarajan.Giving details about the film, a source says, “ The story is about a young IT professional called Karthik who needs money urgently to take care of his ailing father. He approaches a loan shark to borrow some money in order to take care of his father. When he is unable to pay, Karthik faces problems. What they are  and how he overcomes them is what the film is about.”
