Talking about the effort, Vishal said, “OfFER is an organisation that reaches out to Sri Lankan refugees. They have been rendering brilliant service through Chandrahaasan and Poongothai Chandrahaasan. I got to know through common friends and my sister-in-law Shreya that I can lend a helping hand to the underprivileged children. Therefore, I have chosen to embark on this move.” While OfFER has distributed free shoes to a lakh and 10,000 underprivileged kids, Vishal and his fan clubs are making an attempt to provide a lakh and 10,000 pairs of socks to go along with the shoes. Fans of the actor, who donated 10,000 pairs of socks for a start, are expected to visit schools and colleges and request every student to donate one pair of socks. The actor has also been mobilising funds to sustain 55 OfERR-run nursery schools/day care centres in refugee camps.
