Aari, who shot to the limelight with his stellar performance in the critically acclaimed Nedunchalai, is now all set to work with another debut director.  “I have signed a project titled Unnodu Ka. The film is being produced by Abirami Ramanathan sir and for the first time, Prabhu sir and I will working together. He plays my dad in this film, which will also feature a number of other veterans including Oorvasi, Mano Bala and Mansoor Ali Khan. Unnodu Ka is to be directed by RK, an independent filmmaker,” discloses Aari.

It may be recalled that Aari’s last film Maya too was directed by newcomer Ashwin Saravanan. The film, which had Nayanthara in the lead, had raked in the moolah at the box office. “I am someone who strongly believes in debut directors. I think all that one must do is select the right people,” he explains.

Giving out more details about Unnodu Ka, he says, “This film will be a comedy-drama. I am doing a commercial entertainer for the first time in my career. Althought it is a commercial entertainer, it will have solid content.”

Shakthi Saravanan, the cameraman of Mankatha, will be the cinematographer of the film, while the music for the flick is to be scored by music director Sathya. “I play an antique goods seller in this film which will have two heroines. At the moment, the team hasn’t finalised who will play these two important characters. However, that process is on and we are hoping to go on floors after Pongal,” says Aari.

With last year being a good one for the actor, Aari believes 2016 will be even better. “Apart from this film, I am already in talks with the teams of two other films. I am likely to finalise these projects in the next few weeks,” he smiles.
