Madhumita Chooses Arundhati Roy as Her Role Model

Madhumitha, who will next be seen playing a social activist in the Tamil film Buddhan,Yesu, Gandhi, has chosen to fashion her character on Booker prize winner Arundhati Roy. Sources close to the unit of the film, which is being directed by a journalist named Vetri, say that the actor has been observing the writer and activist to play her role to perfection in the film.

Says a source, “The film has a nice message — justice for all. That does not mean this movie will preach. The message has been given in a subtle way. The characters in this film are those with a sense of righteousness in them. Kishore plays a convict who has been awarded the death sentence while Ashok and Vasundhara play journalists. Madhumita plays an activist. To play her role to perfection, the actor decided to observe the behaviour of an activist. She chose Arundhati Roy and has been watching videos of Arundhati Roy to study her behaviour, mannerisms and actions.”
