CCL Edition 6 to Kick off on Jan 23

The sixth edition of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), which will have stars from different film industries across the country compete against each other on the cricket field, is set to take place from January 23 to February 14.

Addressing the media, CCL Founder Vishnu Induri said, “Last season, we associated ourselves with a social cause. We sponsored the  heart surgeries of a 100 poor children. This year, we will be looking to sponsor, in association with the Rotary club, a 100 surgeries aimed at restoring the lives of women who have suffered burns and acid attack injuries.”

This year, one more team has been added to the league. “The Punjab team, led by actor Sonu Sood, has joined the CCL. A total of 15 games are to be played over eight days,” Vishnu said.

The matches are to be played in different venues including Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Hyderabad.” When asked if matches would be held in Chennai, Vishnu said, “We are looking to book the stadium here.”

The Telugu Warriors, who won the last edition, announced that this time they had appointed former India cricket player Sreesanth as their bowling coach. Several stars from the Tamil and Telugu film industries were present on the occasion. Jiiva will be leading the Chennai Rhinos team in this edition of the Celebrity Cricket League.
