Connecting Blood Groups with Evil Spirits

…will form the crux of actor Bharth’s next horror-comedy film, Pottu, which the actor says has never been explored in a script before

Bharath says 2016 will be a good year for him. “I am raring to go as I have four releases this year including Ennodu Vilayadu and Simba,” says the actor, who has begun work on his next film, Pottu.

“Directed by Vadivudaiyaan, Pottu  is a horror-comedy and will be my 28th film. The genre is nothing new to Tamil cinema. In fact, it is one of the most preferred genres at the moment and I thought I should go with the flow,” says Bharath, who goes on to give us a few tidbits about his role in the film.

“I play a first year MBBS student in the film. There are several horror-comedies that are being made, but this one will stand out because of the uniqueness of the plot. I can’t say anything more about the story but I will say that the plot revolves around blood groups, evil spirits and the connection between the two. Although several horror comedies have been made, I don’t think anybody has explored this angle before and that’s why I found it interesting,” explains Bharath.

Posters of the film reveal a different  look he sports in this film. “That look in the poster is just the first of an entire range. The others will be released later,” he says.

Pottu also features Namitha, Iniya and Manisha Yadav.

Bharath hasn’t been seen on silverscreen for a while. Why did he take a break?  “I never chose to take a break. What happened was that a small gap was created when a film doesn’t do well at the box-office. Also, correct scripts haven’t been coming my way. So, I have waited for them and picked them judiciously. Now, I have finished two films that are waiting to release and I will be doing two more this year. So I will have four films releasing in 2016,” he smiles.

Apart from films, Bharath also has been active in sports.  This year too, he will be seen participating in both the Celebrity Badminton League and the intensely-contested Celebrity Cricket League. “I have been practising for both tournaments on a regular basis. In the CCL, I am confident we will make it to the finals this time too,” he says.
