Santhanam whose last outing was the horror comedy Dhilluku Dhuddu, will team up with Sethuraman in his upcoming film Sakka Podu Podu Raja. They were last seen together in Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya (2013). Sethuraman tells CE, “I play his brother in the movie and I’m excited to share screen space with him again. He’s one of my favourite actors. It’s a family drama, where he woos a girl and eventually lands in a trouble. How he comes out of it forms the rest of the story,” he says.

Directed by a newbie Sethuraman, the movie is produced by VTV Ganesh. Vaibhavi Shandilya, who paired up with Santhanam, in his Server Sundaram (which is yet to be released), will be the leading lady.
On the other hand, Santhanam has signed his next Oodi Oodi Uzhaikanum, where he’ll be seen playing a cop.

This is the first time he is donning the khaki. Manikandan, who helmed the actor’s Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, is directing this one too! Sources said, “This is a full-on action comedy, and the project will begin next Monday. Santhanam is attempting something different with this film, to be shot in and around Chennai.” But we hear that a couple of songs will be shot abroad, besides a few high-octane sequences.

“Whatever he chooses will definitely have comedy elements in it though he’ll be seen as a police officer,” the source told. Amyra Dastur, who was seen in films like the Dhanush-starrer Anegan (2015) and Mr X (2015), has been finalised as the leading lady, and plays a journalist. Ghibran has been roped into compose music for the film. The supporting cast includes Kovai Sarala, Motta Rajendran, Ananda Raj and Robo Shankar.

Santhanam also has a yet-to-be-titled flick with Pachaiyappan Raja in his kitty, which will have a tiger playing an important character.
