Vishnu Vishal, who’s awaiting the release of Maaveeran Kittu, has signed his next project Katha Nayagan. Directed by debutante filmmaker Muruganandham of Kaashmora fame, this will be the second production venture of Vishnu after Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran. Sources said this one will be a complete family entertainer and a laugh riot. Catherine Tresa of Madras (2014) fame has been finalised to play the leading lady.

Interestingly, Vishnu’s real-life father-in-law actor-director K Natraj, will be seen as the heroine’s father in the film. One may recall that Pandiarajan had already directed a comedy film with the same title in 1988, and it looks like the makers have bought the rights from the original producers. Sean Roldon is composing the music and actors Anandaraj and Soori will be seen in important roles. “The shooting has already begun, and we are planning to release it next year around mid-April or May,” the sources added. We hear, the film is loosely based on the expectations that a father-in-law has from his son-in-law, and how he wants him to be an actor.
