Be it Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009), Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010), Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012), or Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga (2015), Santhanam has always been a part of director Rajesh’s projects. For the first time, Rajesh has directed a film without Santhanam.
Since Santhanam is acting only as a hero in films these days, I couldn’t accommodate him in Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru. “But he knows the whole story, and gave me enough inputs. Had I convinced him, he would have definitely been a part of it, but I didn’t want to force him.”
Rajesh adds, “Santhanam wants me to direct him, and it’s on cards. On the other hand, he’s busy with Server Sundaram, Sakka Podu Podu Raja and Odi Odi Uzhaikanum. Once he finishes his existing commitments, we’ll team up.”
Santhanam was in the peak for more than seven years as a comedy artiste, and in fact, has acted with everybody, including Superstar.
“He wanted to move to the next phase of his career, and even I think it’s a good one,” he says.
