Express News Service

We hear that the production of the next film of the actor-director combo of Vijay-Atlee is set to begin in January. This will be the third film for the duo after Theri and Mersal. Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film is currently in pre-production with sources indicating that the director has finished his recce and is currently looking to finalise the cast and crew.

With new updates expected to come after Diwali, it is speculated that the film will be titled Aalaporan Tamizhan, taken from the song of the same name in Mersal. Vijay is currently awaiting his Diwali release, Sarkar, directed by AR Murugadoss, that has been mired in plagiarism controversy, harking back to the time when a similar row erupted between Minjur Gopi and Murugadoss over Kaththi.

Meanwhile, Atlee also has a Telugu project in hand with Jr NTR in the lead, which is expected to go on floors in early 2020.
