Except for a few sequences, shooting for Sarayi Veerraju has been completed. The film features Ajay, Madhumita and Ramya Nambisan in the lead. DS Kannan, a protégé of directors SS Rajamouli and Krish makes his debut as director with the film. The film is being made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.
Music of the film is going to be released on September 16.
Speaking at a press meet in the city on Friday, Ajay said: “The film is a full-fledged commercial entertainer with an interesting subject.” Director Kannan said he was inspired by a series of stories on Sarayi (liquor) written by Ravisastry and hoped that the film would go down well with the masses. Sri Sai has composed the music. Vishwa is the cinematographer. Visalakshi Creations is producing the film.
