Tammareddy elected new APFCC president

The elections of the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber and Commerce (APFCC) turned out to be a bigger surprise than expected. Producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj has been elected as the new president of the APFCC and producer Ashok Kumar secretary.

Of the 12 posts for which elections were held, the panel led by Bharadwaj won 11, while producer Ashok Kumar won from the rival Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's group.  Kesireddy Jagdish Reddy from Bharadwaj's panel was the only person to lose.

The general body meeting will be held later where the other executive committee positions will be decided.

Speaking to mediapersons after the election, producer D Suresh Babu, the outgoing president, said, "The chamber elections are an internal affair. We will let you know who will be taking over the new posts. This much is enough for the press."

Asked for the reasons for his panel's setback, Suresh Babu said: "We did not have any strategy." Elated with the outcome of the result, actor, producer, director Jeevitha said, "I am very happy with the results. We still  have no idea about who is going to be  assigned which post. We have to wait till  the general body meeting."
