Even as reports emerge that actress Anushka Shetty is unhappy with director-producer Gunasekhar for the constant delays in the 3D historical film Rudhramadevi, the actress’ upcoming romantic entertainer Size Zero has also been postponed.
The audio launch of Size Zero, a story that deals with the issue of weight loss, was scheduled to take place on Sunday. It was, however, cancelled in the last minute due to “unavoidable reasons”. Sources have now confirmed that the film’s release date, scheduled on October 2, has also been postponed indefinitely.
With Rudhramadevi set to hit screens on October 9, grapevine has it that Size Zero too has been postponed to avoid back-to-back releases for Anushka.
“Both are very big films for Anushka. While one is Tollywood’s first ever 3D film set in a historical backdrop, the other has Anushka as an obese character – something our film industry has never witnessed before. This is one of the reasons why she is unhappy with the constant delay in Rudhramadevi – it is affecting her other projects as well,” said a source in the know.
However, a member of Size Zero’s production unit clarified that the film, which also features Tamil actor Arya, was postponed due to ‘auspicious’ reasons and has nothing to do with Anushka Shetty.
“The movie is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and the makers are mainly eyeing a major release in Tamil, since Arya is a big name there. The makers felt that it was better to postpone the film to get the best response. While the reason remains unclear, it has more to do with Arya than Anushka,” the source revealed.
Either way, the actress would hope at least one of her upcoming films hit screens as she gears up to shoot for SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali – The Conclusion.
