Fans of Superstar Mahesh said they were hurt by the online propaganda against their star especially in the wake of the release of his movie Brahmotsavam on Friday. They sought to counter the same by showing their love for him by getting together with the hashtag #WeLoveMahesh. The fans responded to a story published in Hyderabad Express on Tuesday (Trolls on a roll when biggies fall) about how trolls in social media slam top stars when movies do not reach their expectations.
“Social media is full of such jokes, memes and pull-downs. Initially, we would get annoyed, but now fans of various stars have realised that this is the job of a few mischief makers. Such stuff should not find space in print, because print is sacred,” said Diddi Rambabu, National president of Superstar Krishna Mahesh Sena (fan club) told us.
“Social media is getting notorious with jokes and one-liners, short films and spoofs and some of them are in utter bad taste and one must stay away from it,” said Sridhar K city general secretary and B Babu, state secretary. “But whenever such online propaganda comes up, we all unite to counter it with a positive vibe. On Tuesday, we started the hashtag #WeLoveMaheshBabu and it trended the whole day. That shows that we love our star regardless of who says what.
