After two back-to-back hits in 2016, Tollywood’s King Nagarjuna is gearing up for his next venture, a devotional film with K Raghavendra Rao. For weeks now, speculation has been on about who will play the female lead in this venture. Actresses like Anushka and Pragya Jaiswal have been under consideration and were involved in talks with the makers. The latest we hear, popular Malayali actress Vimala Raman has been approached to play the female lead opposite Nag for this yet-untitled-project.
“Director Raghavendra Rao has been scouting for the right heroine for quite some time now. This is an important project for him so he wants to get the casting right. Vimala Raman and Nag acted together in a jewellery commercial and after seeing it, the makers felt she would be apt for the role. Negotiations are taking place and an announcement will be made soon,” said a source in the know.
The devotional film is said to be based on the life of lord Vishnu devotee Hathiram Baba.
