Getting back into the director’s seat after four long years, director B Jaya says there couldn’t have been a better film to make a comeback with than Vaisakham.

Jaya, who’s last film was Lovely in 2012, is confident that Vaisakham will be a memorable film in her career.
“It’s wonderful to bring a film in front of the audience once again after a long gap. We have shot with newcomers so it took a bit of time to shoot. But they were excellent and the technicians have all delivered. So the entire unit is now confident,” Jaya shares.

Dubbing Vaisakham as a youthful entertainer, the director reveals that a lot of effort had gone into the picturisation of the songs.
“We travelled extensively for this film. We shot three songs in Kazakhastan, which is a place our filmmakers haven’t explored yet. We also shot in Turkey,” she says.

Going forward, Jaya expressed a desire to continue directing films.
“I want to make more mature films. I want to choose scripts which will convey a deep meaning. Hopefully Vaisakham will set the trend. It’s a film people can watch repeatedly,” she adds.
