'The first war of independence was fought in Odisha, a fact which has lost into oblivion due to lack of proper documentation. Before the sepoy mutiny of 1857, Odia bravehearts like Jayee Rajguru, Buxi jagabandhu and veer Surendra SAI revolted against the britishers. A literary festival in Odisha should ponder over such issues and discuss them,' Pradhan said. The focus should also be on the diverse culture, art and tradition found in various parts of Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan said. (Photo | EPS)
