Allahabad Kumbh Mela stampede, 2013: 29 women, 12 men, and an eight-year-old girl were killed when an overbridge collapse and a police lathi charge that followed caused a stampede in Allahabad railway station on 10 February 2013. Allahabad was hosting the rotating Hindu festival of 'Kumbh Mela', and that year it was considered to be the year of 'Maha Kumbh Mela', which comes around only once every 144 years. This increased the rush at the railway station after the event even more. In pic: People weep next to the bodies of relatives who were killed in the incident. (Photo | PTI)
