Human rights lawyer Sudha Bharadwaj is an IIT-Kanpur graduate and has been vocal on land acquisition rights since joining Niyogi’s Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha in 1986. According to a report by News18, Sudha Bhardawaj has worked extensively as a tribal rights activist against illegal land acquisition for almost three decades, worked with Women Against Sexual Violence and State Repression (WSS)as a member and legal advisor. As a lawyer, she has represented the oppressed and poor, fought for the rights of communities in mining areas. She is also a member of People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL). She has been kept under house-arrest till September 6 for her alleged links to Naxals . (Youtube Screenshot)
