With the frenzy of many celebrities joining political outfits amid Lok Sabha polls, TNIE looks back at your favourite celebrities who have entered India’s supreme legislative body.

Rajesh Khanna - Following suit of Shahenshah, Babumoshai Rajesh Khanna contested the 1991 general elections for Congress from New Delhi seat against veteran BJP leader LK Advani. Though he lost, a by-election took place the next year following allegations of Advani cheating, which gave a victory to Khanna. However, he didn’t contest the next election as he wasn’t interested in active politics. However, he remained as an activist for the INC till the 2012 Punjab assembly elections. (File photo)
