Karnataka COVID-19 lockdown: Here are services exempted from restrictions; check out what all will stay shut from May 10-24
Vehicular movement will be strictly prohibited in a bid to stop people from getting on to the roads in Karnataka. While goods vehicles and home delivery service providers are exempted, the use of personal vehicles will be prohibited even to buy essentials or takeaways.
A 14-day lockdown has been announced from May 10 till 6 AM on May 24 Karnataka. Vehicular movement will be strictly prohibited in a bid to stop people from getting on to the roads. While goods vehicles and home delivery service providers are exempted, the
Auto rickshaws, cab aggregators and other taxis except those hired for emergency as permitted by guidelines shall stay off the roads.
All religious places will remain shut for public darshan/ worship.
All social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other gatherings will be prohibited.
Schools, colleges, educational/coaching institutions etc will remain shut.
Hospitality services, except those meant for housing health and other government officials, stranded persons including tourists, quarantine facilities shall remain closed.
All cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasiums, sports complexes, playgrounds, swimming pools, parks, clubs, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places will be shut.
Flight and train tickets shall serve as the passes for the movement of persons by personal vehicles/taxis/cab aggregators/autorickshaws to board the scheduled flights and trains.
Hospitals, labs, ambulance services and other health related activities are exempted from the lockdown.
Only takeaways will be permitted in hotels and restaurants.
Chemists needn't shut business.
Milk booths and Hopcom outlets are allowed from 6 am to 6 pm.
Print and electronic media, telecommunications, broadcasting and cable services can work.
Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, and animal fodder shall be allowed to function from 6 am to 1Oam.
Banks, ATMs, banking related transport, insurance services will be allowed to function.
Power generation, transmission and distribution units and services will work with other necessary government services.
Delivery of all items through e-commerce is permitted.
