Indonesia lush with fake greenery as massive deforestation eats away its natural cover faster than anywhere else

Indonesia, according to reports, has the third largest stretch of tropical forest in the world, after the Amazon and Congo. Between 2000 and 2005, the country lost 310,00 hectares of all its forest a year, with the figure increasing to 690,000 hectares annually from 2006 to 2010. Indonesia now is lush with greenery, albeit fake, with lifeless extravaganzas of plastic ferns and autumnal trees that don't drop any leaves blanketing shopping malls and construction sites.
