Camping to make a change

 HYDERABAD: The NSS volunteers of St. Francis college for Women, Begumpet, conducted a special winter camp at Cheeryal, Keesara Mandal.  All the events, starting from the Inaugural to the Valedictory were successfully carried out for a week with various activities.

The village Sarpanch, the ward members, and the students participated in various activities.The volunteers also organised an eye camp and a dental check up, both of which were huge successes. The women learnt candle making, chocolate making, among other skills via a skill development programmes. A tree plantation programme was also conducted in a colony located near a river. The Children’s day programme was celebrated with a lot of games and activities conducted by the NSS volunteers.

The volunteers held a rally on various current issues like cleanliness and hygiene awareness, education for all, and the abolition of child marriage, besides skits on Anti drug awareness, cyber crimes etc.
All the villagers including the Sarpanch Lavanya Srinivas, appreciated the NSS Programme officers for organising a wonderful camp.
