Good response to Police Martyrs Memorial Run
Hyderabad: The second Indian Police Martyrs Memorial Run-2017 was organised by state police in association with central armed police forces and the Central Police Organisations here on Sunday. Governor ESL Narsimhan flagged off the run at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. About 8,000 participants and central police and those from various states participated in the event. Addressing the gathering, he said, “The run for Police Martyrs marks an important day. The crowd should go back home and talk about the great policemen. The idea to conduct the run is to build up fraternity within the public and police. Self-policing is the best form of policing. An external force can work up to a limit. Police did their best in association with the public during floods, natural disasters and traffic accidents. Treat them as best friends.’’DGP Anurag Sharma said policemen sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Six held for ‘gambling’ at a Balanagar hotel
Special operations team of Cyberabad police apprehended six persons for  gambling by betting money. Gamblers booked a room in a hotel at Balanagar on Sunday and were playing cards when they were caught. According to SOT officials, the six accused booked a room in Swagath Grand Hotel at Balanagar on Saturday and were playing the three-cards game. On receiving credible information, the team raided the hotel room and apprehended them. Six mobile phones, `40,000 in cash and two sets of playing cards were seized from them, and they were handed over to the Balanagar police who registered a case under relevant sections of AP Gaming Act.

Rohingya held for getting Aadhaar on fake documents
A 36-year-old textile trader from West Bengal and a Rohingya Muslim, who posed son of the trader to get an Aadhaar card with a Hyderabad address, were held here on Sunday. Mohammed Ajamuddin alias Molla Ajamuddin (19) is a Rohingya hailing from Myanmar. He, along with his family members were staying in Chittagong as refugees. One day, he came in contact with one Riyazuddin Molla, a textile trader from West Bengal. The latter offered him a job and asked him to travel with him to India and shift his family to Hyderabad. “The Rohingya called up Riyazuddin and told him was in Kolkata and wanted to meet him. Riyazuddin brought Ajamuddin to Hyderabad to work for him,” said Vanasthalipuram ACP V Ravinder Reddy. “To avoid complications for Ajamuddin, Riyazuddin assisted him in getting an Aadhaar card. He showed the Rohingya as his son and managed to get an Aadhaar card by producing false documents.” A case was registered against them.

Miscreants break open windows, steal audio system from seized car

Unknown miscreants broke open windowpanes of car seized by traffic police in drunken drive cases and took away the audio system at the SR Nagar police limits on Saturday night. The traffic police had detained a Santro car and found the driver in an inebriated condition. The police registered cases and seized car and it was parked at Sarathi Studios. Unknown miscreants broke the windowpanes of car and stole the audio system on Saturday night. The traffic police noticed the incident on Sunday morning and lodged a complaint with SR Nagar police. Based on the complaint, SR Nagar police registered theft cases and took up investigation.

Family divides into two groups, file plaints against each other
In a rare incident, a family of four divided into two groups complained against each other over a financial dispute on Sunday. Police registered two separate cases and are investigating. V Sai Kiran Goud alleged that his father V Narsimha Goud along with few other relatives attacked him and his mother and stole `10 lakh from his home on Sunday. He also alleged that his father attempted to kill the mother-son duo. His mother and sister received some injuries. Based on his complaint, police registered a case. Half an hour later, Narsimha Goud, accused in the earlier case, approached police alleging that his wife Savithri, daughter Rama Devi and son Sai attacked him when he went to collect some documents. Another complaint has been registered for probe. Hayathnagar inspector J Narender Goud said that some time later two more complaints were received from both parties. “The family members have a financial dispute. We are investigating both the cases,” police said.
