Amid protests by the CJP against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and other Opposition parties, accusing them of creating what he described as an "extremely dangerous" situation in the country.
In a video message , shared on social media platforms also, Nabin alleged, " Today, an attempt is being made to create an extremely dangerous and grave situation in the country. An attempt is being made to destabilise the 140 crore people of the country who are living in peace and harmony and contributing to India's development with everyone's cooperation."
Questioning the forces behind what he portrayed as a meticulously planned agitation, the BJP chief alleged that two groups were attempting to destabilise the country. "And who is doing this? Two anarchist groups are doing this, one of which is led by the leader of the INDIA alliance, Mr Rahul Gandhi, and the other group is being led by Arvind Kejriwal's associate, CJP." He warned that the people of India were closely watching their intentions and would deliver a befitting reply.
"Today your competition is about who can create more instability in this country, your designs will not be fulfilled. Who are these people? Those whom the public has rejected. Whether it is Rahul Gandhi's INDI alliance, or Arvind Kejriwal and his CJP. When the public rejected them, when democracy punished them, instead of digesting that punishment and learning from it, you have made a plan to destabilise this country," Nabin asserted.
Launching a further attack on the Opposition, the BJP president alleged that its actions were being driven by foreign interests and stemmed from an inability to accept India's progress.
"And I want to say that this effort is somewhere along with your political objectives, you are doing it at the behest of foreign powers. And the country which is completely moving forward in development, despite continuous global crises, today this country is continuously moving towards progress. But this subject is irritating you all. You are unable to digest India's development, India's progress, India's advancement."
Taking aim at Opposition leaders, Nabin said they were unwilling to accept India's emergence as a self-reliant and powerful nation. "Just as India is moving forward today as a self-reliant India, as a strong India, you are unable to see this and at the behest of foreign powers, you are trying to destabilise it. I tell you clearly, there is so much strength in India's democracy, all the patriots and nationalists together will thwart your designs," he asserted.
Claiming that the Narendra Modi government had worked to strengthen national security over the past 12 years, Nabin said the government had sought to eliminate terrorism and tackle Naxalism. He also accused certain elements of continuing to pursue destabilising activities.
"We have tried to free this country from Naxalism, but still some people with an urban Naxal mentality are engaged in destabilising this country. Rahul Gandhi ji, your designs will never be fulfilled. The kind of words that Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and the alliance people are using, the youth of India is watching them. The youth of India who is connected with Indian culture, with Indian democracy, has faith in the Indian Constitution, and somewhere this is the reason that such words of yours will never be accepted by the people of India," he asserted.
Nabin also criticised the Opposition for what he described as attempts to undermine constitutional institutions and use disrespectful language against the country's highest offices and prominent individuals.
"The way they are trying to challenge the constitutional structures of this country, the way they are trying to challenge this country, the way they are using insulting words for our highest offices and eminent persons , the 1.4 billion people of this country will never accept this. And they will be punished for this," he warned .
Lambasting at Opposition, the BJP chief further alleged that the Opposition was seeking to undermine the country's stability with the backing of foreign powers and accused it of misusing the Constitution to challenge the democratic mandate.
"Today I also give you a clear warning on this subject that on the strength of those foreign powers on whose strength you are doing your sellable politics and trying to destabilise India in collusion with foreign powers, your nefarious intentions will never be fulfilled. Challenging democracy in the name of the Constitution with the help of lies is an insult to the mandate," he said.
Reiterating the BJP's position that the electorate had placed its trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nabin said the Opposition's repeated electoral setbacks in the states reflected its frustration with the country's direction.
"The people of the country have given the mandate to whom the people of the country have trusted, he(Modi as PM )is leading the country. Continuously your defeat in the states is showing frustration that you somewhere do not want this country to move forward peacefully," he asserted.
He further asserted that the BJP and its supporters would counter the Opposition's efforts, adding that the government would respond firmly to any attempt to create unrest.
"But today I warn you that the Bharatiya Janata Party and the patriotic people of the country will give you a befitting reply in full, and today the kind of tense situation you are trying to create, the Government of India will deal with it strictly and the worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party will also stay completely among the public and will somewhere stop this design of yours", he asserted.
In his message further, Nabin reaffirmed the BJP's commitment to national development under Modi's leadership, saying the government would continue to pursue the goal of a developed India while dealing firmly with forces it considers a threat to the country's stability.
"Today, for the picture of a new India, for the new India for which the Honourable Prime Minister is engaged and the way the trust of 140 crore people is being received, we clearly tell the people of India that we are fully committed to the development of the country and we will ensure that with peace, with development and with the trust that you have given, all of us together will take forward the dream of a developed India and we will deal strictly with all such forces, whether they are abroad or inside the country," he asserted.
