Looks like Nikhil Kumar’s second project is not taking off as planned. The film was meant to go on floors from today, but the work has been postponed by another fifteen days. The team says that the reason is the coming rains, which could disrupt the massive set that has been installed outdoors. But according to Gandhinagar grapevine, the director is caught up with his other film Bharjari.
Director Chethan, who has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for Nikhil’s move, has asked to be excused from the project. Reason? He is yet to complete his long-pending film Bharjari, which is now in the post-production stages. And he has said that he will not be able to concentrate and do justice to both the projects simultaneously. We hear that a series of discussions have already been held between the production house, Nikhil and the director, and all of them have decided that it is best that Chethan devotes his attention to Bharjari.
The production house will retain Chethan’s story will look out for a director.
Our source says, “Chethan is a dedicated director, but he is in a tight situation. He can’t give up on Bharjari and he can’t be distracted while directing Nikhil’s film. He will need time till July to ensure Bharjari’s release, and then will be able to take on another project. And it is not right to make Nikhil wait for that long. Chethan had to take a decision and he chose to complete Bharjari.”
The production house now has to take the final call today or tomorrow, before they start to scout for the next director. “Another round of discussion will take place with Chethan, before the team takes that crucial decision,” our source says. “If the director is ready to rework his dates, he could remain with the project. Otherwise, the search for a new director will start.”
Only time will tell if Chethan will handle two projects at a time, or be free to devote his time to Bharjari.
Meanwhile the Bharjari team will set off to Slovenia this week for a song shoot. The film starring Dhruva Sarja and Rachita Ram, Hariprriya is at the rerecording stage.
