Sudeep’s recently released Hebbuli is on a record breaking spree and going by the Gandhinagar pandits, the film will be making a gross business of ` 30 crore in the first week at the box office.

An excited distributor Jack Manju says, ”Hebbuli is the first film that has been released in 23 screens in different parts of India and it is slated to make a business of `30 lakh in the first week”.

He says that it is not all about money and he is happy to learn that Kannada films have garnered attention.“In regions with limited Kannadiga population, the film drew crowd through word of mouth.

Those residing in Gurgaon, Pune, Tamil Nadu and Mumbai among other places showed a happy reception to Hebbuli. I have also got enquiries from Hosur and Goa,” informs the distributor.

Manju credits director Pawan Kumar on the success. “It has always been a thought in my head that if films of other languages can run in Bengaluru, then what is obstructing Kannada films,” he asks. Manju believes that distributors and producers should look up to Hebbuli as an example and concentrate on making good films that can go beyond Karnataka.
