KOCHI: There is a certain charm to the art works lined up on the wall at the Ernakulam Durbar Art Gallery. What makes it even more enduring is the innocence which is interwined in the paintings. Created by the students of Holy Grace Academy, Mala, the work has been exhibited at ‘Artscape 2016’ which will conclude on October 27.

Around 110 art pieces of students from I to XII have been showcased at the exhibition. Sujith A S, an art teacher of Holy Grace Academy, Mala, explained, “The school wanted to give students something creative to work on. And after the success of Artscape last year, the number of students willing to participate increased.”

From water colors to oil paintings, cloth to cardboard, all sorts of mediums were used. There were charcoal and pencil sketches of famous personalities among the artworks. Sana Amjad, a class XII student of Holy Grace Academy and one of the young artists explains, “I have been drawing since LKG and have won several prizes. My art pieces are now proudly showcased on the wall. And that is because of the training given during the art camp at our school.” Sujith A S, the art teacher also added, “The school helped the students a lot. The principal and the chairman are very supportive of the students in developing their creative elements. Everything that led to this point cannot be done without the support of the school.”
