Ex-nurse Delna Davi, found homemaking not her cup of tea. So, the Angamaly native decided to start her own entrepreneurial venture which gave her an opportunity to explore her creative side. Thus began Sweet Treat, a dessert bar, where Delna serves some very unique delicacies.
And the 29-year-old’s desserts are a huge hit at baptisms, birthdays and weddings.
“It was during my time in Canada that I learnt the concept of dessert bars. In Kerala, it still is not as popular, which is why I decided to go ahead,” said Delna.
The theme-based desert bar serves customised doughnut balls, 3-D cakes, lava cakes, red velvet cakes, cheese cakes, brownies and are a few among the wide range of deserts Delna provides.
Right now, Delna has other plans. She has formed her own event management team ‘Swastika’ and is planning to take up events.
Theme-based events are Delna’s specialization and she intendeds to provide a unique experience to every client. “The cost is customised for the clients, usually ranging from Rs 65 to Rs 75 per piece,” said Delna.
