Hit a High at Ground Zero

A new lounge in Mumbai's plush Pali Hill is serving cocktails and nibbles that do not burn a hole in the pocket but still score big on quality.
Hit a High at Ground Zero

If lounging on a sofa, watching sports channels and savouring good food and drinks is your thing, then C’est La Vie’s new bar in Mumbai’s Bandra, Ground Zero, is the place to be. And if some shots and a small conversation keep you happy, then there’s the community table with high chairs too.

Barely weeks since it opened its doors, Pali Hill’s new offering has become a favourite with city loungers. At the helm, spearheading the Vie brand, is Basab Paul, who brings invaluable knowhow and experience to Ground Zero with White Knight management. “We thought this is the right time to launch something like Vie Ground Zero by giving people an affordable hangout in Bandra. We would be concentrating more on making the experience all about you as we want every person that enters Vie Ground Zero to be treated like a superstar.”

Vie Ground Zero emanates a warm, chirpy, effervescent feel and is truly a complete winding down destination. The place attracts eyeballs immediately upon entering with its couch seating on one side and high tables on the other. It features a lounge area, two community tables and an edgy bar to pander to every whim.

The smart wall references define the ambience and the genres of music played every day. Music enthusiasts can enjoy different genres played each day from Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, and Retro to Commercial House on the weekend. “It’s a non-pretentious and easy bar that attempts to be a mirror of today’s young adults and youth in terms of its experience and comfort. Plus our happy hours offer a large window for party mongers and the food is affordable,” says Nikhil Rochlani, Director, White Knight Entertainment who manages the bar with Yash Chandiramani.

Everything on the menu is deliciously honest and will surely call for a double orders. Tongue twisting flavours of the bar bites at Vie Ground Zero includes Chicken Barbeque Supreme and Chicken Tikka Bruschetta, with Mezze platter topping the chart. For veggies there is Fresh Basil Pesto Risotto, Alio Olio Pasta and Tandoori mushrooms to relish on.

The bar offers an intensive variety of spirits and beers. The Vie Ground Zero special signature drinks—Watermelon Martini and Bailey’s Banana Colada are must-trys. Keeping the vibe of the place alive the drinks are value for money yet not shy on quality. Besides the Mojitos and Long Island Iced Tea the menu is elaborate with whisky, shots and wines. And if it happens to be your birthday then be up for the ‘on your face’ shot cake. “Shots are placed in the shape of a cake and the birthday boy or girl have to finish it up themselves. It’s on the house for those who make it unscathed,” quips Rochlani. So when in Pali Hill, head for Ground Zero.
