Today, let us realise that each one of us is a bundle of activated, divine energy. We are reflections of God Himself. We have been energised with His qualities in our soul even as we are born. To realise and experience this truth, let us understand that there are three aspects of life that refine and define our existence each moment. They play a crucial role in our lives, which makes it necessary for us to integrate them harmoniously in our day-to-day affairs. The three aspects are:

● Our relationship with the Materialistic World — Adi Bhoutik

● Our relationship with Divinity — Adi Daivik

● Our relationship with our Soul — Adhyatmik

The amount of attention we give to each of these three aspects decides the quality of our life. Just as we need to add all the right ingredients in the right proportions to cook a tasty dish, taking care not to spoil it by adding too much of one or too less of another, we need to balance the Adi Bhoutik, Adi Daivik and Adhyatmik proportionately. When we take care not to favour one and neglect the others, our life will always be filled with love, peace, health, bliss and success.

The success of the Adi Bhoutik or the materialistic part of our life comprises the present state of our health, wealth, status, name, fame, power, position and relationships. This depends on our past karmas and old tendencies or vasanas. Unless these are totally dissolved, we cannot constantly experience the states of peace, health, success and bliss. Let me give you a simple way to do this. Every day before going to bed in the night, offer a prayer to God or your Guru — “Today, I offer at Your Lotus Feet, the fruits of all my actions, both mental and physical. I will humbly accept the results as Your prasad.” This prayer turns all our acts — Karma — into Selfless Action — Nishkaama Karma.

The second important aspect of our life is the Daivik or the Divine aspect. We have to fulfill this part of our lives by offering a prayer of gratitude to God every morning as soon as we wake up. “O God, I thank you sincerely for making me eligible to see another day. Let this day light me up with hope, confidence, enthusiasm and will power to recognise only the best and help me to achieve the best and recognise you always everywhere.” This prayer helps us to ‘solve’ each and every dark and problematic area in our life. It resolves the negativity of the past and grants the will power to be in the present always.

Developing the most important aspect of our life — Spiritual or Adhyatmik — brings forth from within us the qualities of our soul, which include contentment, peace and happiness, tranquility, stability of the mind, decisiveness, patience, selflessness, unconditional love, compassion, generosity and broadmindedness.  Spirituality involves ‘refining’ and ‘defining’ ourselves to understand the purpose of life along with the qualities of the soul. To invoke this Soul Power, we require a strong Will to Resolve (Sankalp Shakti) and intense sadhana. Every morning, seated at the altar or on our meditation seat (aasan), we should close our eyes and assert thus: “I am not only the body and the mind, but also the SOUL called as Sat-Chit-Ananda; Truth-Existence-Bliss.”

A quiet repetition of this resolve will take us to a meditative state and help us transcend our senses. This makes us ‘Self’ reliant, and we eventually become ‘liberated’ in both our mind and body. This means we start experiencing and reflecting the divinity within us.
