Today, all of us need the power of will, ichcha shakti, for all our activities—be it materialistic or spiritual. Without ichcha shakti, we will not be able to move an inch. More so in the spiritual way of life, strong will power motivates us to do constant sadhana. Else we only end up joining different courses, experimenting and fulfilling our curiosity without experiencing divinity.
Today, our power of will is not sharp mainly because we have innumerable personal goals and agendas. Our will is not aligned to the Divine Will. God blessed us with sharp will power at the time of our birth itself. But as we grew, we started forming new agendas, goals and ideas. With formation of every goal or agenda in our mind, we started hammering the sharp power of will, thereby making it blunt. Today, this power of will is so blunt that it cannot even pierce through a soft surface which is why we struggle to achieve even simple tasks in materialistic matters as well as spiritual.
Enlightened yogis say, “Rhym and tune to the consciousness of your Ishta Devata—the form of divinity most dear to your heart. From many lifetimes, more so from the previous seven lifetimes, the power of that Ishta Devata is growing and expanding within you.”
However, ignorant to this fact, today we are oscillating between different forms of divinity—totally impatient and confused. In duality, we expect miracles to happen overnight without making any effort towards it. We have a laundry list of desires. Ignorantly, we are wasting our Prana Shakti or life force just to achieve these. Instead of accumulating power we are discharging it. In short we are going contra to the Divine Will of our Ishta Devata.
Constant sadhana is the route to develop will power. Only when we direct our awareness to our breathing pattern, we become aware of the divine will. This slows down our thinking process too. Remember, we are running from pillar to post trying to achieve 10 things at the same time, through multi-tasking which will not take us to perfection. If we feel we are good at something, we are under the notion that we don’t require God’s grace for that; on the contrary, when we feel we are inadequate in something, then we feel we may need God’s grace to achieve it.
From this mode, we have to transform to the divine mode with wisdom. For this, let us resolve, “Today I am what I am with the Grace of my Ishta Devata. I will think and act only as per the Divine Will. The Divine Plan shall be revealed to me at the appropriate time through intuitive prompts and divine agencies.”
Then, we ourselves become trustworthy agencies of the divine. Just like the yogis, we too will be transformed with razor sharp will power and intellect. Like them, if we will something, it will happen instantly.
