Goodnews for all the kids out there.India’s leading electronic company BPL has launched a unique kind of rechargeable study lamps for the first time in India, in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya.

The lamp has been designed to provide ideal lighting for children, for their studies. This study lamp can provide light for up to six hours without main power.

Studylite was developed by an expert team from Sankara Nethralaya who provided stringent specifications to ensure that the light is ideal for continuous studying by children. This lamp is also an eco-friendly product that uses very little energy and can even run on solar power.

Studylite comes equipped with a rechargeable NiMH battery back-up that lasts for up to six hours.

The light source used in Study lamp is premium quality LEDs which provide flicker-free, white light that is good for eyes. There is no UV or IR raditions.LEDs typically use only 10% of the power consumed by ordinary light bulbs which makes it highly efficient. LEDs also last up to 50 times longer than convential CFL or incandescent light bulbs. Studylite uses a dual power sources, it can be powered either via mains power supply or through a solar panel that BPL provides as an additional accessory.

Studylamp comes in four colours — black, white, yellow and red, and is available in Chennai and Bangalore.
