

After a turbulent last month, Maruti Suzuki is slowly coming back to its core business—launching new products and getting people to buy them. The latest on offering is a new facelift version of Ritz Diesel which is refreshing and a good buy.
Known as Splash in the overseas market, the Ritz in India has done fairly okay if not good. Despite this Maruti Suzuki has decided to refresh its models from time to time. This time the company has launched a new facelift version of diesel-powered Ritz and claim to have made as many as 52 changes that include to name a few a new frontal design, dual tone interiors, a multi-information display on instrument panel, new audio system with USB, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors and much more.
According to Manohar Bhat, Vice President (Marketing), “It is heartening to see a fairly young brand crossing 200,000 sales mark in just 37 months. This reflects the huge customer acceptability of the Ritz. Numerous changes being introduced now will make the Ritz brand more vibrant.”
Besides that there are new and revised colour options. The powertrain has remain unchanged and the new Ritz Diesel will continue to have its DDIS powered motor producing 75PS@4000rpm and 190Nm@ 2000rpm. The company claims that the new model is around 10 per cent more fuel efficient, now returning 23.2 kmpl.
The new Ritz diesel is priced at Rs 5.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base diesel model all the way up to Rs 6.23 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for a newly introduced high-end ZDi variant.
