Logitech FabricSkin Keyboard Folio for iPad (approx. Rs 10,000/ logitech.com)

Logitech makes some of the best keyboard covers for the iPad. The FabricSkin Keyboard Folio is the best of the lot. Beautifully designed and with an exterior made either with a matte leather or fine-weave, high-quality cotton this keyboard case is available in four different colours. The book-like cover keeps your iPad safe with special grooves for the volume rocker and the silent switch. There are two built-in magnets which means that the iPad can be set at two convenient positions easily while typing. The star though is the Bluetooth FabricSkin keyboard which is integrated into the cover which makes it waterproof and easy to type.

ZAGGkeys FLEX Keyboard for Apple, Android (approx. Rs 6,800/ zagg.com)

The beauty of the ZAGGkeys FLEX keyboard is that it can practically be used with any Apple or Android tablet or smartphone. Since it is not an integrated cover, the sleek keyboard is easy to carry. Wherever you want to start typing, all you do is pop the protective case which can be used as a stand for your tablet or smartphone both in landscape or portrait orientation. On the back of the keyboard, there are keys which allow you to toggle between iOS or Android. The chiclet keys along with special keys for functions like copy/paste, volume control and search make it a very easy-to-use keyboard.

Microsoft Wedge (approx. Rs 6,500/ amazon.com)

Probably designed for the almost non-existent Windows 8 tablets, the Microsoft Wedge makes for a very good Bluetooth keyboard for both Apple and Android tablets of any size. The thin keyboard’s cover can be popped to make a stand for any tablet that can be used both in landscape and portrait modes. The full-sized soft keys provide you a very good keyboard experience on the go. Once done with your typing, all you need to do is pop the cover back which powers down the keyboard thereby saving battery. And if you can track down a Windows 8 tablet somewhere you can use the shortcut keys and media keys on the device to do chores like copy/paste and controlling your media.

Belkin YourType Folio for Galaxy Tab (approx. Rs 6,500/ belkin.com)

While the market is flooded with great iPad keyboard cases, there is a dearth of good cases for Samsung Galaxy tablets. Belkin fills that gap with this well-designed Folio+Keyboard. The cover protects both the keyboard and the tablet and has grooves for volume rocker and the camera. The removable keyboard can be set up at multiple viewing angles for easy typing using the well-spaced, comfortable keys. Belkin says the Bluetooth keyboard which can be recharged using a micro USB cable will give you 60 hours of use and 2,000 hours of standby on a single charge.
