To dominate the market, ASUS has come out with the ‘Republic of Gamers’, which is designed to promote gaming in the country. With a strong, red glow coming out of its vents, the ROG G20AJ desktop computer not only looks like it came out of an alien space ship, but also hides a big 12.5-litre chassis under its sleek design. Clad in matte black finish etched with Mayan-inspired markings, the computer exudes aggression and is packed with customisable lighting effects, which can show up to eight million colours.

It, of course, is as aggressive inside as it looks from outside. Packed with 4th gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA’s powerful GeForce graphics, this desktop is capable of days and weeks of non-stop gaming and entertainment with WQHD quality. Since you have to bring your own screen to connect to the desktop, ASUS is also providing a built-in, exclusive Aegis application that continuously monitors the system parameters.

Like with any gaming computer, a big problem that companies struggle to address is the tonnes of heat generation that slows down the games and even breaks down the computers. While Predators get around this problem using liquid cooling, ASUS gets around it, using some clever design. Even without visible side exhaust vents, the G20 comes with a thermal design. It takes advantage of natural convection and a hidden airflow channel, which makes sure that the computer’s internals don’t melt during marathon gaming sessions.

It also runs at an astonishingly silent 22dB. Running the latest Windows 8.1, the G20 is also capable of pumping out some stunning sounds taking you right into the games that you play. It comes with 100GB of free ASUS web storage, a bundle of a gaming mouse and gaming keyboard that take your gaming to the next level.

Acer’s new laptops—the Predator 15 and the Predator 17—are designed for the hardcore gamers. The 15 model comes with a 15.6-inch screen with an eye-popping 4K display, while the bigger 17 model comes with a 17.3-inch screen, albeit with a less-pixelated full HD display. To run the powerful games, both the laptops are packed with Intel’s newest Skylake Core i7 processors, which are complemented by NVIDIA’s high-performing graphics card and a 128GB solid state drive with an optional second 1TB SSD drive that writes and reads super fast. One of the biggest problems with gaming laptops is the heat. While others have tried to mitigate this problem by using techniques like liquid cooling, Acer solves the issue with the ‘Triple Fan Design’. It uses three fans, some big air exhaust vents and also fan modules called ‘Cooler Master’, which you can swap out when they get hotter.

Another feature is the ‘Killer Doubleshot pro’ technology that lets you use both Ethernet and Wi-fi connections together, so you always have a very good Internet connection for high speed online gaming experiences. On the back of the devices, there are massive dust protection fans made of aluminium, which make sure that the insides of the laptops don’t get all clogged up with the dust.

Both the Predators come with a bunch of speakers and woofers strategically placed to give you the best performance. Both of them run on Windows 10 and come with plenty of configuration options.

There are gamers and then there are hardcore gamers. If playing Angry Bird on a smartphone is all about fun, playing the Call of Duty on the XBox is more challenging. Even as the game space changes every moment, not many companies have shown interests in exploring the market. Now, Acer and ASUS enter the ring to spice up the game arena.
