An organiser for your gadgets

Keeping track of warranties, bills and AMC documents is no longer a hassle with JollyApp. This Kolkata-based startup is making it easy for electronics customers

BENGALURU: Complaint with your TV, issue with your oven or a dysfunctional washing machine; solutions for all these are brought under one app with JollyApp. Founded by Umesh Agarwal, JollyApp is an ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered customer care assistant’ that keeps a record of all your electronic appliances. The app is specially designed to take care of customer’s items and keeps records of your invoices, warranties, AMC papers and other related documents. In case the users need customer support, periodic service or repair work done, they can simply go on the app and the support system will take up the request and assist in getting the job done, without having to worry about it.

The app requires the user to feed in information about the various electronic appliances that they are using. Once this is done, whenever the user wishes to register a complaint, all they have to do is search for the product in their list of products and the app provides the user with all the relevant details about it and instantly gives the required customer care number. In fact, it also provides an option of sharing the product details by means of WhatsApp, text message and email.

CEO and Founder, Umesh Agarwal says, “JollyApp doesn’t just cover almost all household electronic appliances such as mobiles, washing machines and home theatres but it also covers all the major brands of these products that function in India.” However, he adds that the automobile section is yet to be included.

The app was launched in December 2017 and Agarwal claims that it currently has 45,000 users. Launched with an initial investment of `65 lakhs of his own savings, JollyApp was meant to address a specific pain point. Agarwal says, “While there are major brands that provide customer care support through their official app, there is no single app that provides customer care support of all the major brands in one place. And that is precisely what we do because we, as customers, are never confined to one brand. We use multiple brands.”

Currently, work is in progress to launch a complaint feature where the user only has to type in their issue and the app representatives will register and follow up the complaint with the company on the user’s behalf. They are also planning to launch a subscription model which will in turn generate revenue. JollyApp is also planning to tie up with companies which will provide extended warranties for users.
JollyApp is currently only available on Google Play Store, however, work is in progress to create an iOS version soon. It is recognised and certified by the ‘Startup India Organization’, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
