in Praise of lord jagannath

The Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre will organise a three-day musical event based on songs of Lord Jagannath and Jagannath culture on July 10 and 11 in wake of the nine-day Rath Yatra festival at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar. As many as 27 singers from Odisha will take part in the event, titled ‘Guhari’.

Gallery Sumukha is holding an Inner Retrospective of well-known painter, print maker and draughtsman KLaxmaGoud with curatorial inputs from Marta Jackimowickz till July 16 in Bengaluru. Working  in a variety of mediums, Goud is best known for his drawings  on eroticism in a rural setting. He was honored with Padma Shri this year.

Rangadhara presents its 125th production Raktbeej, a play in Hindi written by the late Dr Shankar Shesh and directed by Vinay Varma. It showcases the lives of two couples—Sharma and wife Sujata, and Dr Shantanu and wife Lalita. The two stories are different yet connected. The play will be staged on July 10 at Telugu University, Hyderabad, at 7 pm. Tickets are priced at `200 each.
