‘I’ve already been paid for Gautham Menon project’

Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon’s long-time desire has been to make a multi-starrer project by roping in prominent stars from four southern industries. Over the last several months, names of actors such as Puneeth Rajkumar, Simbu, and Sai Dharam Tej have been associated with this yet-untitled project, even though an official announcement is awaited.

From Malayalam filmdom, it was rumoured that Fahadh Faasil was considered and even approached to play one of the leads. However, it was Prithviraj who eventually landed the opportunity and the Oozham actor has already been paid advance. “This project requires primary stars from all the four southern industries. Hence, it’s taking time to materialize. I’ve already been paid and I’m on board,” Prithviraj told City Express.

Reportedly, the film is about the lives of four friends who meet at a wedding after many years and decide to take a fun trip. Tipped to be made in four languages, Gautham had confirmed earlier this year that Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia have been signed, and that this will be a Dil Chahta Hai meets Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara kind of film. While Gautham plans to produce in Tamil and Malayalam versions of the film, he’s on the lookout for a producer who can back the project in Telugu and Kannada.
