The Akhilesh Yadav-led SP Government in UP has chalked out a multi-pronged strategy to resolve the state’s acute power crisis. Chairman of the UP Power Corporation Limited Anil Kumar Gupta said that the state was facing an acute shortage of transformers too. According to Gupta, he had directed the UPCL to step up the efforts for revenue realisation for filling its empty coffers.
According to the IDC an industrial policy is being conceptualised for the first time in the state and it will have region specific incentives. In order to improve the economic growth through industrial development in zero industrial zones like Bundelkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh , the state government would announce incentives for the regions.
Expressing concern over the stunted industrial growth, Gupta said that the government sector was not sufficient to give jobs to the unemployed and hence there was a need to bring investment to those areas which have been described as backward regions.
